Brian Donnelly aka KAWS was born in 1974 in New Jersey and started out as a graffiti and street artist. KAWS draws on the complexities of modern life and the contemporary built environment, and contrasts this with the aesthetics of pop and street culture.
This exhibition at the NGV features paintings, sculptures, graphic design, and product design, covering the full spectrum of the creative output. I was lucky to be able to enjoy Brian Donnelly's artwork. I got the message by Brian through KAWS, simple, cool and some have a sense of humor. I was familiar with some my favorite characters like The Simpsons, Astro Boy, Star Wars, Spongebob, and many more.

The PLAYTIME exhibition area designed especially for children. The activity of playing with letters and spelling new words is the two rolled into one. Children can take their kit home and display proudly in their room.
